America of the late 40s, the heyday of crime and corruption, when the American mafia moved from bootlegging to the drug business, and Los Angeles is one of the most brilliant and at the same time most crime-ridden cities in the world. Human life is not worth a cent where the interests of major players are involved – brutal murders, robberies, extortion, explosions and arson have long been the norm in the City of Angels.
You have to try on the role of Cole Phelps – a police detective who is extremely unfortunate for himself, who has a true belief that his task is, in fact, to serve the law, no matter what.
